As is the case for many Sanctuary folks, I’ve had a problem with the very large trash cans Republic provided when they switched to the semi-automated collection system.  PPM contacted the Public Works Department regarding these oversized trash cans and  I am happy to report that the large 95 gallon trash cans can be exchanged, at no cost, for a smaller 65 gallon trash can – but ON A CASE BY CASE BASIS.  Homeowners need only to contact Republic Service at 407-293-8000.   

Republic says that there is no paperwork involved and that all the individual needs to do is to call and put in a request.  They wanted us to also remind all individuals that do switch them out that there is still only going to be a pick up once a week.  Individuals will have to place the larger can out to be switched out to a smaller can.   

Also FYI to elderly or anyone at hardship, there is a free rear-door garbage service available to them.
